Conductor John Storgårds returns to the TSO for this program, which opens with the Canadian première of Stravinsky’s recently rediscovered Funeral Song. In an extraordinary act of coproduction, the TSO, featuring its brilliant Principal Trumpet as soloist, is one of more than 20 Canadian orchestras to perform John Estacio’s new Trumpet Concerto. The program concludes with Holst’s majestic planetary suite.
